Proxmox VE

Proxmox VE is the virtualization platform for the enclave’s two core nodes — the Manor and the Annex. It runs on Debian, and uses LXC system containers for most workloads, falling back to full KVM virtual machines where a service needs hard isolation.

It is the general-purpose hypervisor of the enclave: where a workload is long-lived and stable, it lives here. The Outpost’s churnier, ephemeral workload is handled differently — by Incus — but everything in the Sovereign Core and the Delivery Edge sits on Proxmox. Datasets that need durability are backed up to Proxmox Backup Server.
