The connections
In a nutshell
Separate boxes, zones, and services only behave as one machine because of what runs between them. This layer is the connective tissue: the private mesh that wires the owned hosts together internally, the edge where the enclave meets the public internet, and the controlled flows that move data from one service to another. It describes how things are joined and — just as deliberately — what is kept apart. The packages that implement each link are catalogued in Software; this layer is the map of the connections themselves.
